About My Work
My landscape artworks are based on a practice of walking, observing, plein air sketches and finally loose studio works. The Canadian Shield, rugged shorelines and dense swamps are my go-to reference. These environments are integral characters in my art. I believe our bond with nature is deep and I aim to express this symbiosis, offering viewers a window into the serene yet vibrant essence of untouched landscapes. My work is constantly expanding and evolving.
My abstract exploration is inspired by our intrinsic relationship with the land and sea. Employing a minimalist acrylic palette, I use line, form, and shape to layer colours and patterns, creating depth and movement within my works. Tales of shipwrecks, previous years of scuba diving and a love of water give me inspiration.
